The Daily Fish Wrap this morning
Speaks of an unprecedented limo swarm
Descending on the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion
One spring evening in 1990

 Turns out the stretched transports
Were packed with show biz kids
Come to pick-up their prize,
Parade, preen & party
Elsewhere in the news music
Takes a back seat to commerce as
Attendance slips iPhone sales skyrocket
And some sharpie’s sonic idea
Gets compressed, converted
And plugged into the wax ridden ears
Of adolescent dreamers
All over the world

Jerome Kern had a name
For this kind of travesty
Selling the soul what
Every heart hears shortchanges
Our spirit subverts the natural order
And creates content
In the name of harmony?
